How To Setup A Home Business Online

By

It can be overwhelming when you start a home business online. There's the fear that you might get bogged down with techie problems that seem impossible to understand. Or you might think that you're too old, too young or too unskilled for the online business world. But with the right mindset and direction, you can do it. There are the 5 steps every online entrepreneur takes when starting a home business online.
1. Determine What You're Going To Sell
The beauty of a home business online is that you can choose from a wide range of products and services to sell. The most important thing is to get involved with a product or service that you actually like or have an interest in. You don't even need to have your own products. There are thousands of ready-made products and services that you can sell as an affiliate and earn commissions on every sale you make.
2. Develop A Website
Don't worry if you have absolutely no technical expertise. There are plenty of online step-by-step video tutorials that teach you how to build a basic home business website. Or if you feel it will be too much for you then you can outsource any technical jobs to freelancers who can do it for you. Check out websites like Elance and UpWork.
3. Get Some Content On Your Website
Your pages, posts and articles need to say more than "buy my products". Your content needs to contain information that your website visitors will find useful. Don't just use written text. Use video clips, illustrations, photos, infographics, podcasts - anything that will keep your audience interested so that will want to come back for more.
4. Drive Traffic To Your Website
When you start a home business online your website is just one of the millions of other websites on the internet. So you have to get visitors to your website. There are a number of ways you can do this. Simply by regularly updating your website with useful content will help your website to get noticed by the search engines so that they direct traffic to you. Also, share your new content on social media. If you have some available funds, you can pay to boost that content to your target audience. Aim to have a good blend of both free and paid traffic strategies.
5. Develop A Database Of Prospective Customers
Put an email capture form on the home page of your website so that you can send emails to prospects about your products or services. It's not likely that a person who visits your website for the first time will buy from you there and then. People need assurance that your online business is genuine and that you provide real value. This is done by building a relationship with them via email. To get someone's email address you need to offer something of value for free in exchange. This could be a simple e-book, survey or video course.
Regardless of your age, education, technical skills or qualifications there are no specific requirements for being a successful online entrepreneur. However you will be more successful with a solid business model to work from, clear direction, training and support. If you don't know where to start or you're not achieving the online success that you want, check out the FREE Online Business Video Series at http://www.jonallo.com/

Quitting Smoking - I Love It, I Hate It

By

A very common thing I hear from my quit smoking clients is that they enjoy smoking, they love to smoke when relaxing with friends, or having a drink or a coffee, but each day they wake up thinking that they wished they could quit cigarettes.
It's like being torn in two directions at once, in the end something will fail, and it is usually the quitting which fails.
It's like the person on the diet who eyes the dessert trolley and says, "I know I shouldn't but hit me with that big lump of sugary heaven". The struggle between good and bad seems endless.
The problem is there is not a clear agreement about which is good and which is bad.
Logically you think that quitting is good and smoking is bad, but a deeper thought is smoking is enjoyable and quitting will be hard, and so the internal battle continues.
The first thing to do is to identify clearly what it is you like about smoking. Is it the taste? The smell?, is it how you feel?
The first thing to do is to break up your smoking reasons into two groups.
  • Your smoking reasons which don't relate to cigarettes such as boredom, on the phone, with coffee, alcohol or after sex. Non-smokers drink coffee or alcohol, get bored and have sex and all manage to survive.
All of these reasons are just habits and will drop away quickly with hypnosis and a little time.
  • Smoking specific reasons, taste, smell and perceived addiction. Pleasure from taste and smell can be adjusted incrementally prior to hypnosis by changing your association. i.e. When you light up link the smell and taste with something you dislike.
With each smoke in your mind or out loud proclaim what rotten things these smokes are. Don't give yourself the opportunity to enjoy them, keep bad mouthing them and telling yourself you will be well rid of them.
It probably sounds simple, but remember it's not meant to cure your habit, just to shift you further from smoking and closer to being a non-smoker. Then your hypnosis session will be able to shift you the rest of the way much easier than if a part of you still enjoys smoking a lot.
Quitting is primarily for you, sure your practitioner will do their best but it's your life and your health so the more you are engaged in the process the better off you will be.
And now for you to discover the 5 big mistakes most people make when trying to quit smoking. go to http://howtoquitsmokingcigarettesnow.com/
Wishing you the best of health

Savings and Investments - How Are They Different?

By

Savings and Investments are absolutely important for every citizen. They can be used in various ways to meet expenses but it must be understood that there are some major differences between the two.
Economists and bankers always advise that 'savings' as a habit has to be learned at a very young age; this essentially teaches the value of money in a small way and helps to understand macroeconomics at a later stage. Saving money and investing money are two completely different concepts altogether; savings is part of the money left over after monthly or annual bills and expenses have been met or keeping aside a certain portion of the income. Savings are generally used to deal with unexpected expenditure like an illness or unforeseen accident, home repairs, educational expenses etc. It can be a pre-fixed percentage of total earnings like 10 percent or 20 percent. In other words, savings is hard cash 'saved' from expenditure by being cautious or avoiding an expenditure altogether. Investments on the other hand pertain to that certain sum of money put aside in financial products or systems to generate returns and increase incomes.
The three prime factors where savings and investments differ are:
• Time - savings usually cater to short-term needs unlike investments that need longer durations of time from a few months to a few years to generate returns.
• Liquidity - savings are the most liquid of assets as they are accessible at any time. Investments however cannot be liquidated immediately and may take from a few days or a few weeks to attain liquid status.
• Risk and reward - the risk factor with regard to savings is almost negligible but do not see much return as compared to investments, which may be fraught with risks. But investments that are done wisely - for e.g. in gold, mutual funds, shares and stocks etc. - can help fetch manifold returns over a period of time.
That said, we find that many a time when savings is easily accessible, the tendency is to dip into it and take money when the need arises - a celebration dinner or graduation party, automobile repairs, a sudden trip etc. Financial planners are of the view that those who set aside a portion of their monthly income aside before chalking out expenses are better able to meet unforeseen expenses because they are able to build savings and reduce debts. To help prevent depletion of savings funds, the best strategy is to set up an automatic transfer to a savings or investment account that has a lock-in period which makes it rather difficult to liquidate the money even if a need arises.
The two essential strategies to boost savings and investments are: (I) increasing income and (ii) reducing expenditure.

Five Crops That Can Turn Nigeria's Economy Around

By

In July 2016, the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun announced that Nigeria's economy was technically in a recession. Nigeria's GDP contracted by 0.36% which was the first negative figure in many years. As if that was not enough on August 10, 2016 a report by Bloomberg and the IMF confirmed that Nigeria had lost the position of Africa's largest economy to South Africa. This is a position it had held for two consecutive years.
Where are the groundnut pyramids? Where are the palm oil exports from the east? Where are the cocoa exports? After all, infrastructures pre-independence were constructed with revenue gained from agricultural exports amongst others. This was an era when oil was not yet discovered. After oil was discovered in Oloibiri, Bayelsa state in 1956, agriculture has been largely neglected in Nigeria.
Oil price fell to $27.67 a barrel, its lowest since 2003. And to make matters worse, the Niger Delta Avengers have reduced Nigerian oil production capacity to its worst in 20 years.
Oil should not be the only determinant of our economy. We should start looking towards agriculture as we did in the old days. Nigeria has about 71.2 million hectares of available agricultural land and only about half of that is utilized. The lands utilized currently are not even utilized to their highest production capacity.
Here are 5 crops that may turn Nigeria's economy around.
1. Cocoa: Nigeria was the fourth largest exporter of cocoa in 1990/1991 with sales of 135,000 tons which is about 7.1% of world trade as at then. Our exports reduced a lot due to black pod disease, labour shortages, aging trees etc. If we're serious we can retake our position as a leading exporter of cocoa beans in the world.
2. Palm Oil: Nigeria was the leading exporter of palm oil in the world until we were overtaken by Malaysia in 1971. Nigeria's palm oil export was about 43% of the world production at a time. Now it is less than 7%.
3. Rubber: Nigeria was once the largest exporter of rubber in Africa. But this is no longer the case. We currently export about 60,000 tons. In 1990, we were exporting 147,000 tons. According to the International Rubber Study group, the global demand for natural rubber may reach 14.2 million tons by 2020 while global production would be 13.6 million tons/ year in 2020. As you can see the production would not be able to meet up with the demand. Rubber could turn Nigeria's economy around.
4. Rice: More than 90% of rice consumed in Nigeria is imported. An economy that focuses on importation would not be strong. We need to consume more of our local rice. We now have Dangote, Kebbi, Anambra and Kano rice. As at 10th of August 2016, a bag of Thailand parboiled rice was N16,000 in the local markets. Some of these our local rice now sell for as low as N8000 per bag. The more local rice we consume, the less rice we import. The less rice we import, the lower the demand for dollar and foreign currency used in importation. This would boost our currency and stop the catastrophic fall of the naira in relation to the dollar.
5. Cowpea: Nigeria is the largest cowpea producer in Africa. We could still increase our production further and boost our economy more. This crop has play a vital role in animal feed formulation.

Your Children Are What YOU Eat: Don't GIVE Your Kids Obesity

By

Most parents are dedicated to their child's oral, visual and physical well-being and diligently schedule their children for regular check-ups at the dentist, eye doctor and pediatrician. Why is it, then, that many of those same parents do not put the same emphasis on a child's eating habits? After all, what kids eat greatly affects their oral, visual, physical and emotional well-being over the course of their lives. Why do so many parents refuse to notice that a child is overweight? Why do they believe that a child "just has baby fat" that will "balance out" as their child gets taller "and grows out of it?" Here's why.
To bring a child to a medical professional is to rely on the efforts and expertise of someone else. There's only some effort or thinking involved-namely, we pay a fee; they provide a service. To acknowledge that a child is fat is to acknowledge perhaps that the parent is at fault for their child's physical condition. To have to instill good eating habits in a child is, for most parents, to acknowledge that they themselves do not practice good, healthy eating habits and to change their own bad habits requires more effort than many parents care to put forth. To honestly acknowledge that 'baby fat' is just not applicable to an adolescent or teenager is to acknowledge their guilt at not having done everything within their ability to prevent it thus far in their child's life. Many parents do not want to acknowledge how their child's physical appearance affects their child emotionally and psychologically. Parents never set out to purposely hurt their children, and yet we know that parents often do just that. Parents who do not make it a priority to instill good eating habits in their children must come to terms with the fact their children will most probably be overweight, unhappy adults who will most often go on to continue the cycle within their own families.
Rejection because of body size is real... it hurts... and it lasts a lifetime. The stigma of rejection that your child feels never goes away. But, there's another victim of your overweight child-you! No matter how cruel, unfair or misplaced the blame may be, parents of overweight children are judged harshly (albeit in quiet whispers) by their friends, neighbors and relatives. People see your child's weight problem as evidence of your inattention to your child's dietary needs and health. Like it or not, true or not, others blame you for feeding your child too much, for condoning an inactive life style, for letting your child sit in front of the TV for too long, for having never-ending bags of potato chips in the house, etc.
The health ramifications for overweight children are significant: The number of overweight and obese children who take medications for chronic diseases has jumped dramatically. Doctors see greater increases in prescriptions for high cholesterol, high blood pressure and hypertension. And, remember when Type 2 diabetes was known as "adult-onset?" Well that's changed too. Kids as young as 5 years old are being treated with prescription diabetes drugs. If all that isn't enough, most of the increases in drugs for diabetes has been seen in overweight and obese girls-a contributing factor to more overweight and obese girls having erratic menstrual cycles, leading to hormonal disturbances, more diagnoses of PCOS, which itself leads to a whole slew of medical issues, including infertility problems. Additionally, let's not forget the mental ramifications of being overweight. There is also an increase in prescription drugs for depression amongst overweight and obese girls.
All parents want their kids to be resourceful, to be able to find within themselves the strength they need to meet life's challenges, and to be able to ask for help from others when they need it. To set a good example for them, parents need to be able to do this in our own lives-maybe not perfectly and maybe not with great success first time every time, but enough so that their children learn to tap their inner strengths for the challenges they are sure to encounter. If you are an overweight parent you must find the strength within yourself to deal with that reality and to face the challenge of a healthy lifestyle change for yourself and, more importantly, for your children. YOU are responsible for the proper mental programming of your children to give them the best opportunity to grow to be mentally healthy, socially acceptable, happy, secure and confident adults.
Would you give your children cancer? Absolutely not. Would you give your children diabetes? No. Would you give your children heart disease, hypertension, high cholesterol? No, no, of course not. Well, obesity is a contributing cause of all those medical issues so... don't GIVE your children obesity.

Best Health With Diabetes - Understanding Carbohydrates

By

Carbohydrates are natural substances in all plants and in all animals. A carbohydrate is an essential molecule of the living state. A carbohydrate consists of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. The actual word carbohydrate means hydrated carbon. Carbon atoms unite in rings or in chains, and oxygen and hydrogen link to the carbon atoms. The hydrogen and oxygen are united in a ratio of one oxygen and two hydrogen atoms, which is the exact ratio of water - H20. The basic composition of carbohydrates is thus one carbon, two hydrogen, one oxygen - and carbon is hydrated - carbon is linked to the atoms of water. In fact, when a carbohydrate is digested and metabolized, carbon is released and water is released.
Often, a carbohydrate is scientifically termed a saccharide. Saccharide and carbohydrate are synonyms for the same substances. Saccharide terminology confers more information, for nature includes monosaccharides, disaccharides, and polysaccharides - single sugars, double sugars, and starch. Glucose is a single sugar. Fructose is a single sugar. Sucrose is a double sugar. Lactose is a double sugar. Cellulose is a chain of multiple sugars. Starch is a chain of multiple sugars. Glycogen is a chain of multiple sugars.
Carbohydrates are essential for life. Glucose is the essential energy molecule for life. It provides immediate energy. Sucrose exists in nature but cannot serve as an energy molecule until it is broken down to its two component sugars - glucose and fructose. Fructose exists in nature as a single sugar but it does not provide immediate energy for living organisms. Rather, it is converted into fat molecules once it is absorbed and transported to the liver. A small percent of fructose can feed the liver, but most eaten fructose converts into storage fat. Starch and glycogen serve as glucose storage chains and provide glucose only during periods of fasting. Starch and glycogen cannot be absorbed when eaten. These polysaccharide carbohydrates must first be broken down to their glucose components in the stomach and intestine, and then their glucose is absorbed.
As a food, carbohydrate refers to any food that is rich in glucose, fructose, and starch. Simple carbohydrates are sugar, juices, jams, jellies, candies, and syrups. Complex carbohydrates include pasta, breads, whole fruits, whole grains, and whole vegetables.
Simple carbohydrates metabolize to glucose rapidly and can cause a rapid surge in blood glucose. Complex carbohydrates metabolize to glucose more slowly and thus cause a much slower surge in blood glucose once eaten.
Personal knowledge of what foods are simple carbohydrates and what foods are complex carbohydrates is essential for the self care of one's diabetic condition.
